STEPHIE BÜTTRICH aka STEPHIE KOLMAN
Born in the gritty industrial town of Gelsenkirchen, Stephie Büttrich escaped the coal mines to become one of the Netherlands' premiere vocal artists and performers.
She performed with bands such as Grand Mal (with Justin Bennett and Anne Wellmer) and Hexnut (dir. by Ned Mcgowan) and recorded a number of radio plays with Lukas Simonis. The large range of musicians and composers that Stephie Büttrich collaborated with include Fred Frith, Matthew Ostrowski, Kristina Fuchs, Anne LaBerge, Karlheinz Essl, Yannis Kyriakides and Louis Andriessen. After years of also managing some of the groups she had been involved with, she decided she might as well get paid for her organizing skills, and turned to backstage work in 2004, serving as production manager for the Karnatic Lab festival. Since then, she has worked as a production manager, financial manager, stage manager and all around pivot person for many music and music-theater projects, including Theo Lovendie's "Operina" with Ziggurat, Guy Livingston's, "60 seconds for Piano" and his "One minute more" DVD project "The Expected," and "Pigeonhouse" by Thomas Myrmel and Wilbert Bulsink, Dirk Hooglandt's "Stabat Mater." From 2008 onwards she was assistant general manager and production manager for Ensemble MAE and has been the production manager for Slagwerk Den Haag until today (as Stephie Kolman).
